  • Briefing on recent notification from David Feldman about the referral of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to the Texas Supreme Court to certify questions
    • “The Texas Supreme Court has accepted the certified questions from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals (New Orleans ) in the Degan case as to whether annuitization of DROP violated the Texas Constitution. Briefing and oral argument before the Texas Supreme Court will follow, thus delaying a decision from the 5th Circuit Court in the Degan case for some time.”

  • Swearing in of existing board member Boux Bland
  • Interview Luncheon hosted with five mayoral candidates on April 2
  • Briefing from President Elliston of the Ratliff Company’s efforts
  • Treasurer’s Update on lawsuit membership numbers since the March 13 meeting:
    • Number of Full (police), and Affiliate (fire) and Active DROP members and Active Police/Fire
    • Total number of Annual Adjustment participants (to date) x $400 = Money received to date for the lawsuit (Crista)
  • Caps, Tee-shirts, and Decals available
  • Reminder of next DPROA meeting on May 8 at the DPA
